The number of businesses launched in Britain this year is almost 20% higher than in 2010, according to a new report from Creditsafe.
Creditsafe report 471,000 companies have started up during 2011, reported to date, – a significant increase on the 400,000 founded over the previous 12 months with more than a third having based themselves in London, the South East report 60,715 and the North West, with 46,000. Birmingham and Manchester also found to have the highest number of start-ups outside London.
The report finds that overall growth in the UK business population has actually accelerated in 2011.
