Brighton & Hove Business Show has had a real focus since 2008 on providing a platform for new businesses to launch, to meet hundreds of other businesses and continue business 2 business networking.
During 2011 more than 14 % of all start ups were Corporate Social Responsible firms and one of the largest growing areas of start up businesses. 26 January 2012 saw ten new businesses showcasing general mix of products and services. February 2012, Brighton & Hove Business Show will be offering 5 FREE stands to new CSR businesses that started up during 2011, or just starting now during Spring 2012, and who would like to take this unique opportunity of showcasing their products to many businesses under one roof on one day on 23 February 2012.

The new UK Start Up Business drive has been launched for 2012 – launched by The PM David Cameron, “There’s a business in everyone – What’s the business in you?”
The ‘Business In You’ is aimed as a partnership between private enterprise and Government to highlight support for start-ups and growing businesses and encourage entrepreneurial spirit during the very important year of 2012 where the world’s eyes will be watching the UK with such large events as The Diamond Jubilee and The London 2012 Games being staged.
2011 saw more than a 20% increase in new business startups recorded, year-on-year, and the new 2012 launch campaign is set to increase further on the 470,000 or more of the recorded businesses 2011.
The campaign helps make new business ideas happen. Whether looking to test ideas, or develop financial and planning skills, it’s aimed to give support and inspiration that new startups are looking for by using successful, real-life examples. It also provides links to key business support tools, highlighting top tools available from BusinessLink, StartUp Britain and a whole range of partners.
26 January 2012 sees more than 10 new business startups launchpad at The Brighton & Hove Business Show ‘Business Days’ expo. The Brighton & Hove Business Show has actively encouraged startups and now has seen scores of businesses continue and grow successfully since inception, 2008.

The Great Campaign at Business Days Events – 26 January 2012
The ‘GREAT’ campaign was released during September 2011 showing off what’s great about Britain – a series of posters highlighting creativity to heritage, music to shopping and more. The hope that the Olympics and Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee next year, to mark 60 years of her reign, will boost tourism, attracting an additional four million visitors, aided by a further billion pounds of free publicity.

Captains of Industry consider The 2012 Olympics a benefit to business
The ‘Captains of Industry’ survey conducted yearly indicate that a quarter of Captains of Industry (25%) think the Olympic Games will benefit their business, with less than one in ten (8%) saying the Games will have a detrimental effect. Of those who say the games will prove to be a benefit, over half (52%) think there will be an increase in consumer demand/ spending and one in five (20%) think they will raise the morale of the British people.
Captains with company Headquarters in London are even more positive, with just under a third (31%) saying the Games will be beneficial compared to 19% with HQs based outside of London. However, three quarters (75%) of those with HQs outside of London think the Games will have no effect, compared to just over half (58%) with HQs in London. Respondents are Chairman, CEO, MD/COO, FD or other board directors and conducted during the fourth quarter by Ipsos MORI.

3 More Centres confirmed as Olympic Legacy
Just 200 days until the start of the largest event the UK has ever staged – The London Olympic Games 2012 - Three more sites confirmed for Legacy - The Aquatics Centre hopes 800,000 people a year will make use of its facilities after the games. The handball arena will become London’s third largest site for concerts, shows, exhibitions and sport events and The observation tower, the 115m (377ft) AccelorMittal Orbit, expects to attract up to a million visitors a year – all announced as The Cabinet are expected to meet on site today marking the 200 days to the start. The Olympics will run from 27 July to 12 August and the Paralympics from 29 August to 9 September.
